Sequential processing is a univariate treatment of\na multivariate series of observations and can benefit from\ncomputational efficiency over traditional Kalman filtering when\nindependence is assumed in the variance of the disturbances of\nthe measurement equation. Sequential processing is described in\nthe textbook of Durbin and Koopman (2001,\nISBN:978-0-19-964117-8).
